Raman spectra of proflavin and its complexes with nucleic acids and DNA were obtained in the region 30&17OOcm-'.

Normal mode calculations were undertaken to assist assigning Raman bands. The depolarization ratios of some observed Raman bands were measured and these denolarization ratio changes with medium changes are used for analysis of structural informatlon on the DhA-proflavin binding system.
