β¦ Synopsis
Di β use reΓectance spectra of and of caesium oxide containing the ion exhibit a broad absorption KO 2 O 2 maximum near 300 nm extending into the visible range, due to the transition of this ion. Raman spectra 1p g ^1p u of these substances excited at 457.9 nm show the fundamental and Γrst overtone with moderate intensity, and O 2 in the case of caesium oxide the second overtone is also weakly observed.
