โœฆ Synopsis

Escitation within the "hype?-type absorption of osothiocyanato molybdenum(V) tetraphenylporphyrin results in behavior of the resonance Raman scattering that is different from that usually observed for porphyrins. Excitation within the charge-transfer absorption in the near UV gives suttcring of AIg and Alg modes, while escitation within the strongly red-shifted Soret band fives cnhwcemenr of Big and Bzg modes.

Resonance Raman scattering with the Q band of CuTPP shows a peculiar intensity pattern; bands due to combinations and overtones are strorg. whereas the corresponding fundamentals are very weak. By a quantitative analysis of excitation profiles. this phenomenon has been fully accounted for on the bas
