✦ Synopsis


The Raman excitation profile measurements of the = 1520 cmvl (WC=C) band of the polydincerylene, pcly<BCMW, is described by a linear suseeptibiIity model. The profile may be adequately described by I\ Iinear superposition of (at least) three excitonic absorptions. A distribution of (at least) three conjugation lengths, which permit photoseiection of the different chromophores within the inhomogeneousl_v broadened absorption band, is thus indicated.
