β¦ Synopsis
Resonance. enhanced coherent anti-Stokes Raman scatterin& (CARS) spectra have been obtained for the hi&Iy fluorescing aaidine dyes, acridine orange and pro&vine, iii dilute methanol solutions at submillimokir concentrations. Spectra have also been taken in the muItipIex mode by the use of a broad-band Stokes laser and a Vidicon OMA detection system. Several Raman bands are observed in the 1100-1600 crri' reggoorr originating from the aaidine ring modes. Upon decreasing the beam crossing angIe a continuous transition from the normal CARS spectrum to a negative spectrum in the nonresonant background is observed_

## Abstract CARS measurements were carried out on acridine to investigate the resonance behaviour of the totally symmetric vibration in the lowest excited triplet electronic state. The lineshapes of the observed vibrational mode were analysed for different pump laser wavenumbers by means of the tra
Using steady state and transient state fluorescence techniques, a comparative study of fluorescence parameters of acridine and acridine 9-carboxylic acid in water and sodium dodecyl sulphate (SDS) micelles, at controlled pH, is presented. When fluorescence probes are micellized, the fluorescence qu
Polarization-sensitive resonance coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering spectroscopy of magnesium octaethylporphine (MgOEP) in dichloromethane is reported. The measurements were performed in resonance with the Q-band electronic absorption where linear resonance Raman spectroscopic measurements were f
