β¦ Synopsis
The electric resistivity (parallel to the preferred layer orientation) of AsF,-intercalated graphite in the form of oriented and compacted flakes and of foils has been determined using stage 1 and stage 2 materials. The compacts prepared from intercalated large Madagascar flakes (l-2 mm dia.) had a lower resistivity than the corresponding intercalated foils. The observed resistivities were significantly lower than in analogous SbF,-graphites because defect formation by covalent C-F bonds is much less severe with AsF, than with S&,.-

The electric resistivities were measured for textured compacts of the intercalation compounds of graphite with SbF, and with SbC&. Starting materials were coarse flakes of natural graphite and graphite foils (0.35 and 2 mm thick). First stage compounds and mixtures of first and second stage compound
