Transport and a.c. susceptibility data on a crystalline sample of Y1Ba2Cu307-x in fields up to 9 T along the c-axis are presented. Careful study of the I-V curves and the frequency dependent a.c. susceptibility indicate that the critical current develops suddenly at a line in the H-T phase diagram t

β¦ Synopsis
Resistive transitions of single crystal Ba~YCus_=Ni=Or were studied in magnetic fields up to 20 tesla. For dopant concentrations of z = 0.01 and z --0.03, the transition temperature in zero field decreased from the undoped value of 88 K to 82 K and 76 K respectively, while the transition width AT (10%-90%) is still less than 1 K. Moreover, Ni-doping has a dramatic effect on the resistive transition, tending to suppress the field dependent broadening.
