β¦ Synopsis
Clinical experience using the Nd:YAG laser to resect intra-abdominal malignancies is limited. Presented are two cases of recurrent gynecologic cancers, one ovarian carcinoma of low malignant potential and one fallopian tube carcinoma grade l , in which the Nd:YAG laser allowed removal of recurrent tumor fixed to sacral bone and pelvic sidewall. The ability to accomplish laser vaporization of the tumor bed along with periosteum may reduce the risk of local recurrence. Further investigation of laser treatment of tumors fixed to sacral or pubic bone, pelvic sidewall tissues or other structures should lead to the evolution of the Nd:YAG laser as a useful tool to the cancer surgeon.

The use of the neodymium:YAG (Nd:YAG) laser in urology is still in its infancy. To date, the most widely published application of this laser is in the treatment of bladder carcinoma. We have utilized the Nd:YAG laser in 23 treatments for superficial bladder tumors. The laser has both advantages and
Whereas the focused COz laser may be used as a cutting instrument in less vascularized tissue with limited trauma to the surrounding tissue, use of the defocused Nd-YAG laser results in homogeneous coagulation with an energydependent depth effect. Thus, residual tumor tissue may be cauterized select
A multicenter, prospective trial was initiated to test the effectiveness and safety of the Nd:YAG laser equipped with artificial sapphire contact tips for the laparoscopic treatment of pelvic pain. This study was carried out to investigate the effects of NdYAG laser-induced hyperthermia on murine F9 embryonal carcinoma cells in vitro using various power settings, temperatures, and exposure times. F9 cells were plated on gelatin-coated dishes, treated on the following day, and cultured overnigh
