Abstract
Based on the microscopic mechanism of thermal radiation of ionic crystals, a model of damping oscillators is established to study and calculate the thermal radiation characteristics of ionic crystals, i.e., absorptivity, reflectivity, and transmissivity. Then the model can be used to calculate the infrared spectra of ionic crystals as well. Comparison of the numerical results with experimental results indicates that the results calculated by the model are in good agreement with the infrared spectra measured. ยฉ 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
