โœฆ Synopsis

When vibration-damping steel sheet is subjected to plastic working processes, i.e., deep-drawing, bending, roll-forming etc., the formability of the material is different from that of ordinary thin steel sheet and the above plastic-working processes can be difficult to apply.

In the presently reported work, methods for eliminating the various defects which occur in the forming of vibration-damping steel sheet using a cold roll-forming machine are experimentally researched, employing five kinds of roll-pass schedule and fifteen kinds of vibration -damping steel sheet. The mechanisms for the occurrence of defects such as flange crimps, drift in the width direction and separation of the surface and reverse steel sheet are identified and measures to overcome these defects are investigated from the viewpoint of the thickness of the surface and reverse steel sheet and of the yield stress of material.
