✦ Synopsis

According to the method developed previously for calculating the required rotation for composite connections, typical cases are studied and the required connection rotations are evaluated. Maximum span:depth ratios are presented so that the required connection rotations are smaller than 20, 25 or 30 mRad respectively. Conclusions are made on the effects of different load cases, steel grades and end conditions on the required rotation for plastic design of semicontinuous composite beams.
