Stylaria lacustris (L.) was offered ~4C-labelled algae. The ingestion rate of diatoms was o.79 #g carbon/hour at 19 Β° C. Diatoms (Nitzschia actinastroides) were well assimilated, green algae (Scenedesrnus acurninatus) were practically not assimilated. The less assimilable algae are ingested at highe
