Over the past several decades there has been considerable interest in developing receptors for NH 4 . Such receptors are desirable as sensors in clinical analysis and in environmental chemistry. For example, concentrations of urea or creatinine in biological samples can be determined indirectly by

β¦ Synopsis
For Ξ a finite-dimensional k-algebra, k a field, we study the relations between the category of all left Ξ-modules, Mod Ξ, and the category of finitely generated Ξ β k k(x) = Ξ k(x) -modules, mod Ξ k (x) . In particular, we consider those G β mod Ξ k(x) such that Ξ G is indecomposable. We prove that such modules are in the mouth of components in mod Ξ k(x) which are tubes or have the shape ZA β , ZD β , or ZB β .
