Westenberg reviewed the application of ESR to determination of the rates of elemental reactions in the gas phase; for reactions of atoms (H, 0, N, and C1) it is possible in many cases to measure rates relatively precisely by this method over a very wide temperature range (200-1000°K); he also presented some results on the reactions of OH radicals.
