The income from the JOURNAL through subscriptions, sales, and advertising accounts was $4619.78, leaving a debit balance of $4o59.53. Inasmuch as the J0~:RXaL and Year-Book are furnished to all members of the Institute as among the privileges of membership, a fair proportion of the membership dues may properly be credited to the item of publication, in which case the account would be practically balanced.
