Mar., I932.] P)OOK REVIEWS. 339 metal. In "all-metal" designs it may be entirely practicable to employ a direct exhaust-heating system. A narrow slot on the upper surface located about one-tenth of the chord length from the leading edge is employed in these tests for the purpose of collecting the water which would otherwise blow back and freeze aft of the heated leading edge. The tests seem to indicate, however, that this slot may not be essential.
