✦ Synopsis

The study from Szudek and colleagues provides further data on the growth in children with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1). Their sample is lightly biased as they underline that the patients included in the FDB are likely to be more severely affected than NF1 patients in general.

However, their data confirm the observation that macrocephaly is a constant finding at any age and short stature develops later.

Having growth charts is necessary for clinical follow up of children. The data provided by the International Database complete our growth charts, which is a useful tool to NF1 clinics.
