Reply to Dr. Stellar's Letter

We would like to take this opportunity to comment on a number of points raised in Dr. Stellar's letter, which we feel are in need of clarification. This we shall do in the order they appear in his letter.

The measurements of energy actually reaching the nerve in the rats were mentioned in a previous work [Nissan et al., 19861. We found that laser irradiation penetrates through skin and muscles, and 3-10% of the energy reaches the sciatic nerve.
