✦ Synopsis
In our paper we analysed recently published results on CH+(Y~) coUisiona1 deactivation. The kinetic models dewloped in that paper have enabled us to interpret the results obtamed by Avranides and Hunter (contrary to the assertion m HunteZs Comment) in any case-flj we do riot agree with the theoretical expressians used by Axamides and Hunter, (2) some of their results -as they themsehws admit for Kb, -seem "surpnsmgz' and are inconsistent with rhose obtained in our Iabaratory The evaluation of rate constants using the photoacoustic method requires-(I) The measurement of the phase shift 7Jt,e, between the radiative excrtation and the dynamic pressure; em,, depends on the ratio f/p, where f'is the modulation frequency of the exciting radiation and p the dynamic pressure in the cell.
