✦ Synopsis

Despite some differences in clinical course, simian immunodeficiency virus (SW) infection in macaques may present a useful model to address some open issues in human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection, in particular the wture and role of host factors that influence the outcome of infection. In this regard, we proposed' that SW-infected monkeys could be utilized to test the possibility that genetic differences in the ability to replenish the -lrculating T-cell pool* might at least in part account h ,: differences in disease progression among infected individuals. The data presented by BosHk and collaborators would appear to book review
