Abstract

We give the main ideas our proof that the noncommutative ϕ^4^‐model is renormalisable to all orders. Compared with the commutative case, the bare action of relevant and marginal couplings contains necessarily an additional term: an harmonic oscillator potential in the free field action which solves the UV/IR‐mixing problem.

## Abstract This is an exposition of joint work with S. Doplicher, K. Fredenhagen, and Gh. Piacitelli [1]. The violation of unitarity found in quantum field theory on noncommutative spacetimes in the context of the so‐called modified Feynman rules is linked to the notion of time ordering implicitly

We analyze in detail the quantization of a simple noncommutative model of spontaneous symmetry breaking in zero dimensions taking into account the noncommutative setting seriously. The connection to the counting argument of Feynman diagrams of the corresponding theory in four dimensions is worked ou

Dimensional reduction of finite temperature quantum field theories can be improved with the help of continous renormalisation group steps. The method is applied to the integration of the lowest nonstatic (n=\1) modes of the finite temperature 8 4 -theory. A second, physically important application i
