## Abstract Single‐walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) and multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were oxidized by NaClO solutions and were employed as sorbents to study sorption characteristics of nickel(II) from aqueous solution. The surface properties of CNTs such as functional groups, total acidic
