Abstract
The reduction of Cu(II) in aqueous media by polypyrrole deposits on stainless steel mesh is examined in this work. The kinetics of Cu(II) reduction, the influence of temperature, and the possibility of the regeneration and reuse of polypyrrole for Cu(II) reduction have been investigated. The morphology of stainless steel mesh/polypyrrole electrodes has been monitored with scanning electron microscopy. The Xβray diffraction technique has been used to detect the formation of metallic copper deposits on the surface of polypyrrole films. Β© 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Removal of Pb(II), Cd(II), Zn(II), and Cu(II) from aqueous solutions using the adsorption process on bentonite has been investigated. In order to find out the effect of temperature on adsorption, the experiments were conducted at 20, 35, and 50degreesC. For all the metals, maximum adsorption was obs
Erbium oxide nanoparticles (Er 2 O 3 NP) were synthesized with an efficient method in the presence and absence of sodium dodecylsulfate (SDS) as surfactant. The effect of SDS on the morphology of the synthesized Er 2 O 3 NP is described. The NP were studied through scanning electron microscopy and X
The high corrosion resistance and good biocompatibility of titanium and its alloys are due to a thin passive film that consists essentially of titanium dioxide. There is increasing evidence, however, that under certain conditions extensive titanium release may occur in vivo. An ion-beam-assisted spu
