✦ Synopsis
An enzymatic bmsensor for glycerol and glycerol-3-phosphate was desIgned, based on the co-unmotuhzatlon of two enzymes, glycerol kmase and glycerol-3-phosphate ozodase, on a nylon membrane activated by a process recently reported for nylon balls Optunum condltlons for unmobdlzatlon, use and storage were defined A detectIon hnut as low as 7 x 10-s M for glycerol and 1 x lo-' M for glycerol-3-phosphate was obtamed and assays could be performed m the hnear ranges 1 x 10-'-S x 10W4 and 2 x lo-'-2 x lo-' M for glycerol and glycerol-3-phosphate, respectively The response time IS < 3 mm No significant difference m the sensltlvlty was found after 7 h of contmuous use and 75% of the mitral sensltmty was mamtamed after 50 days of storage at 4°C The electrode was tested wth various samples such as standard serum and standards of dl-or tnglycerldes and the results were m good agreement with the theoretIca values
