## Abstract Homopolymeric and interpenetrating network (IPN) hydrogel beads of ibuprofen (IBP), a nonsteroidal anti‐inflammatory drug, were prepared using carboxymethyl xanthan and sodium alginate as polymers and AlCl~3~ as a cross‐linking agent. Formation of IPN structure was examined using FTIR a
