The mechanical 7 relaxation of a linear polyethylene has been extensively analysed by means of high resolution mechanical spectrometry. This analysis was completed by quantitative measurements of the morphological parameters governing the characteristics of the 5, relaxation, such as the crystallini

β¦ Synopsis
A detailed study of the relaxation phenomena in polyethylene with the structural relaxation method (heat capacity) and mechanical relaxation (inner friction) in a wide temperature range leads to the conclusion about the existence of four @-relaxation transitions, three a-transitions, and three A-transitions. I t is shown that the glass transition temperature of polyethylene lies within the region of about -9OOC. This value is discussed in connection with other glass transition temperatures given in the literature.
