β¦ Synopsis
Co-operative behaviour of voltage-sensitive membrane channels, for example, gapjunctions, has been investigated. A statistical mechanical model has already been proposed by us for the system. The model is extended for cases where the weight factors for different possible states are time dependent. This helps us to understand the relaxation of gap-junction channel current when the externally applied voltage is withdrawn suddenly.

## Abstract The structure of a skeletal muscle is dominated by its hierarchical architecture in which thousands of muscle fibres are arranged within a connective tissue network. The single muscle fibres consist of many forceβproducing cells, known as sarcomeres. These micro biological engines are p
We generalize classical statistical mechanics to describe the kynematics and the dynamics of systems whose variables are constrained by a single quantum postulate (discreteness of the spectrum of values of at least one variable of the theory). This is possible provided we adopt Feynman's suggestion
