✦ Synopsis

The application of relativistic continuum Hartree-Bogolyubov theory for exotic nuclei is reviewed. In excellent agreement with the data we obtain a neutron halo for nLi. The halo is found to be formed by Cooper-pairs scattered mainly in the two levels 1pl/2 and 25l/2. We predict a new phenomenon gaint halos in the Zr nuclei close to the neutron drip line, which contain up to 6 neutrons. After systematic examination of the matter distributions, the development of the halo is revealed to be closely connected with the particle shell structure.
