✦ Synopsis
Lattice models of reaction-diffusion processes require the specification of the total number N of sites of the underlying lattice, its dimensionality d and valency Y. Earlier calculations are summarized and new calculations reported for the average walk length (n) (a measure of the mean lifetime 7) of a reactive species migrating on a lattice with a centrosymmetric trap. We calculate exactly (n) as a function of the variables (N, d, V) in order to assess the relative importance of changes in the dimensionality and/or valency of the reaction space of the system, The principal conclusion drawn from the numerical results reported here is that changes in the dimensionality are of greater consequence in influencing the efficiency of the process than changes in the valency of the reaction space.
