โฆ Synopsis
A new instrument intended for the measurement of relative fluorescence quantum yields is described. This instrument incorporates an integrating sphere to eliminate corrections due to polarization and to index of refraction phenomena. The primary standard was quinine bisulphate in 1'N H2SO4. Quantum yields are reported for quinine bisulphate (0.1 N H2S041, as well as diphenylantiracene, dicyanoanthracenc and tetraphenylbutadiene, all in cyclohexane. T!Gs work supports the contention that for diphenylanthracene in cyclohexane the quantum yield of fluorescence is 1.00 to within fwe percent.
