✦ Synopsis

Abstract

The relationships between the valence optical theory of Raman intensities and the atomic polarizability tensors model were studied. It is shown that the atomic polarizability tensors can be expressed in terms of electro‐optical parameters. The theoretical relationships derived are illustrated with a numerical example.
