## Abstract ^1^H and ^13^C NMR spectra were studied for a number of 1,8‐bis(dimethylamino)naphthalene (DMAN) salts in acetonitrile‐__d__~3~. In the case of strong acids no counter anion effect was observed on the protonated DMAN molecules. A splitting of the ^1^H signal of the CH~3~ groups was foun

✦ Synopsis
Abstract
Hydrogen and carbon‐13 NMR chemical shifts of five complexes of 1,8‐bis(dimethylamino)naphthalene with strong acids were measured in acetonitrile‐d~3~ and nitromethane‐d~3~ and identified by 2D, NOE difference and long‐range enhanced COSY spectra. The assignments of the resonances corresponding to H‐2,7, H‐4,5, C‐3,6 and C‐4,5 obtained in this study differ from those reported previously.

An ionic complex of 1,8-bis(dimethylamino)naphthalene with picrolonic acid was studied by C and 1 H magic angle spinning and x-ray diffraction. Structural and spectroscopic features of this compound were investigated. The detailed x-ray structure of this complex is described. A multicentre model of
The 'H NMR spectrum of pentafulvalene has been analysed. Proton-proton coupling constants and I3C chemical shifts are compared with those of sterically similar pentafulvenes. Pentafulvalene can be regarded as a pentafulvene with a highly localized n-system.
## Abstract The high toxicity of diphenylarsinic acid, found in ground water and well water as a probable consequence of the inappropriate disposal of warfare agents, prompted us to study the reaction, monitored by ^1^H and ^13^C NMR spectroscopy, of the compound and its monophenyl analogue, phenyl
The assignment of some 'H and -C NMR chemical shifts of apigenin have been uncertain and even contradictory. A reinvestigation with recent NMR techniques has led to a new set of =C NMR parameters and confinned the accepted 'H NMR data.
