✦ Synopsis

The synthesis of new 2‐oxo‐2,8‐dihydro‐[l,2,4]‐oxadiazoo‐[2,3‐a] pyrimidine‐carbamates 3 described in this paper is based upon a regioselective heterocyclization of the pyrimidine‐2,6‐bis (alkoxycarbonylamino) N‐oxides 4. Structural and mechanistic aspects of that cyclizalion are discussed.
