N-Alkylacrylamides and N-acylacrylamides were synthesized by a novel synthetic approach, namely, the Friedel-Craft reaction of acrylamide with alkyl chloride and acyl chloride, respectively. The reactions took place smoothly at room temperature and the time required for the reactions was very short.
