β¦ Synopsis
In closed-cycle refrigerators the regenerators are the most critical components in determining the performance of the entire system: designing a regenerator with high effectiveness is thus of great importance in order to construct a good cryogenerator. For this reason seven series of measurements on a two-stage Gifford -McMahon cryogenerator, produced by Galileo Vacuum Tec of Firenze, have been carried out, varying the materials and the configuration of the matrix of the regenerator, to optimize the performance of the system.
