In this work experimental values for the refractive index n , speed of sound u, and isentropic D Ž . compressibility k of binary mixtures of n-hexane with 1-butanol, 1-hexanol, and 1-octanol S at T s 298.15 K and atmospheric pressure are presented. From the experimental values, the Ž corresponding excess and deviation values were computed changes of refractive index, . changes of speed of sound, and changes of isentropic compressibilities using variable-degree polynomials to fit the data.
