✦ Synopsis


The reformation process of the MnO,-Ta,O,-Ta system has been investigated by reanodizing at constant current tantalum anodes, previously anodized and covered by pyrolytic MnO, layers. From the voltage-time characteristics, two processes can be distinguished during the reanodization stage: a charging process of the capacitor up to a critical voltage followed by the formation of new oxide layers. For the later process, the pre-exponential factor in the ionic transport equation has been obtained from experiments involving sharp changes in the reanodization current.
