## Abstract Dedifferentiation, a process by which differentiated cells become mesenchymalโlike proliferating cells, is the first step in renal epithelium repair and occurs in vivo after acute kidney injury and in vitro in primary culture. However, the underlying mechanism remains poorly understood.
