โœฆ Synopsis

T W O FIGURES

The widespread occurrence of polyovular follicles and polynuclear ova among mammals is indicated by the reports of Hartman ( '26)' Lane ( '38)' Davis and Hall ( '50), and Pawson ( '51). The aberrant forms are more common in immature animals but are also present in older individuals. Attempts to explain the occurrence of these two types of abnormalities have been largely based on morphological evidence and the possibility of a sequential relationship between them, rather than on a viewpoint which regards them as part of the general problem of control of ovarian function.
