We propose a definition of Jacobi-Nijenhuis structures, that includes the Poisson-Nijenhuis structures as a particular case. The existence of a hierarchy of compatible Jacobi structures on a Jacobi-Nijenhuis manifold is also obtained. © 1999 Acad6mie des sciences/l~ditions scientifiques et m6dicales

After a brief review on the basic notions and the principal results concerning the Jacobi manifolds, the relationship between homogeneous Poisson manifolds and conformal Jacobi manifolds, and also the compatible Jacobi manifolds, we give a generalization of some of these results needed for the conte
Reduction in the category of Poisson manifolds is defined and some basic properties are derived. The context is chosen to include the usual theorems on reduction of symplectic manifolds, as well as results such as the Dirac bracket and the reduction to the Lie-Poisson bracket.
