The bleaching ofthe excited-state absorption of para-terphenyl dissolved in cyclohexane was measured at room temperature as a function of the excitation intensity. The experimental results ofthe steady-state measurements are modelled with rate equations. The recovery time of the S,-S. absorption is determined to he 380 ps.
