โœฆ Synopsis

Enhanced superconductivity in the eutectic system Sr 2 RuO 4 -Ru is referred to as the 3-K phase of Sr 2 RuO 4 because of its enhanced superconducting transition temperature T c of $3 K whilst the superconductivity in Sr 2 RuO 4 (T c of $1.5 K) is called the 1.5-K phase. We describe basic properties of the 3-K phase and focus on its field-temperature (H -T ) phase diagram. We suggest that the 3-K phase is attributable to surface superconductivity with a two-component order parameter (chiral state) occurring at the interface between Sr 2 RuO 4 and Ru inclusions.
