Abstract
New data are given which extend from 1941 to 1960 an earlier study (Kraus 1955). The analysis suggests a return to wetter conditions in lowβlatitude eastβcoast regions, after a drier period which persisted through nearly half a century. This change appears to be paralleled by the recurrence of lower mean temperatures in higher latitudes.
