## Abstract Nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs), members of the Cys‐loop ligand‐gated ion channels (LGICs) superfamily, are involved in signal transduction upon binding of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine or exogenous ligands, such as nicotine. nAChRs are pentameric assemblies of homologou
