β¦ Synopsis
Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) diamond is being developed as radiation hard material for replacement or upgrade to present detectors in extreme radiation environments. During the past few years devices have been manufactured and tested with fast, radiation-hard electronics. In this paper we discuss the present status and recent progress achieved.

For the luminosity upgrade of the LHC, the SLHC, the tracking systems of the LHC experiments need to be replaced and upgraded. A main concern is the extreme radiation hardness requirements, up to 1 Γ 10 16 cm Γ 2 . This paper describes recent results on the radiation hardening technologies developed
