Sulphenes (RRV+SC2) though long virtually ignored by most chemists, have recently been discussed as intermediates in some newly-discovered 2 reactions . We have becane interested in and oxythiones (RRV=SO), and now wish to unusual reaction (I-11) which yields a reactions involving sulphenes describe our study of an stable oxythiono derivative, perhaps via a sulphene intermediate.
