✦ Synopsis
BOOK REVIEWS nerisms and 'bizarreries'. It is not always clear how these are to be defined but the authors do acknowledge this difficulty.
This is a useful book for references, particularly for the borderland areas. Reflecting its encyclopaedic style there are many useful tables and especially for the lexicologist there is a table of compulsions and phobias which include such delights as 'apeirophobia' and 'catagelphobia'. Authors must be prone to kakorraphobia but apart from minor criticisms they need have no fear!
