✦ Synopsis
A three-dimensional network, composed of convergent±divergent ¯ow channels has been employed for the simulation of the relative permeability behavior of a random packing of equal spheres. The relative permeability is calculated as a function of the amount of the sorbed vapor volume, which is the summation of the volume due to multilayer adsorption and capillary condensation. The sizes of the ¯ow channels are determined on the basis of the structural characteristics of the sphere pack. The eect of adsorption±desorption hysteresis on the relative permeability is examined. Results are given for the conditions of vapor sorption of carbon tetrachloride and pentane in dierent porosities.
