0 P(CcH5)3 l a l b 2 3 gespalten werden. Daraus ergab sich die Frage, ob die Thermolyse des Phosphoniumbetains 7 zum Dehydrobenzol fiihren wiirde. Zur Synthese von 7 wurde u-Bromanisol nach der ,,Kobaltsalz-Methode"3) rnit Triphenylphosphin, Phenylmagnesiumbromid und CoC12 in das o-Methoxyphenyl-triphenyl-phos- phonium-Salz ubergefuhrt, das sich als Jodid 5 isolieren lie8. Atherspaltung mit Pyridinhydro-chlorid4) fiihrte zum o-Hydroxyphenyl-triphenylphosphoniumjodid (6), das mit waRriger Natriumcarbonat-Losung das Betain 7 ergibt. Dieses laRt sich mit Methyljodid in das Phosphoniumjodid 5 zuruckverwandeln.
