Eingegangen am 2. Mai 1969 o-Chinondiazide reagieren rnit p-Nitrophenyl-essigsaureathylester sowie rnit p-Nitrobenzylcyanid zu 2-Hydroxy-arylhydrazonen der entsprechenden Keto-Verbindungen (Tab. 1). Die Substanzen 1-9 sind Indikatoren. Die Cyan-Verbindung 8 zeigt eine iiber das ganze sichtbare Spektrum gehende Solvatochromie, wobei ein Zusammenhang zwischen der Losungsfarbe und der Fahigkeit des Losungsmittels, Protonen zu solvatisieren, besteht.

o-Quinone diazides react with p-NO2-CsH4-CHz-COzCzHs and p-N02-C6H4-CH2-CN to 2-hydroxyphenylhydrazones of the related keto compounds (table 1). The substances 1-9 are indicators. The cyano compound 8 shows solvatochromy reaching over the whole visible spectrum. The colour of the solution is related to the ability of the solvent to solvatise protons.
